A man after God’s own heart.
Prayer, Principle with obedience, and Praise are essential to possessing the more abundant life Jesus promised us. (John 10:10) The sum of prayer, principle with obedience, and praise is communion.
communion – one, a relationship marked by ready communication and mutual understanding – sharing all things
I’ll be honest, this devotion and study has lasted a few days. And yet, there is still a treasure of truth in this revelation. Often times during this study, I cried out to be a “man” after God’s heart. I just want to please HIM.
Prayer – spiritual communication between man and God. A two-way relationship in which man should not only talk to God but also listen to HIM. (Billy Graham)
Principle (with Obedience) – law, rule of conduct, order. opposites: lawlessness, misconduct, disorder (Merriam Webster)
Praise – to confess / profess gratitude, agreement, reverence, oneness to lift up high, an expression of worship
Scripture References:
1 Sam 13:14 … the LORD hath sought HIM a man after HIS own heart …
Acts 13:22 … I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfill all my will.
John 4:23 But the hour cometh, and now is when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship HIM.
When we consider all the things God has created, to think God sought through all creation and found man to be that companion, His offspring. To be ONE with HIM. It is unfathomable. We will never be able to explain HIS choice. It is so AMAZING!!! At the same time humbling. We absolutely do not deserve it.
God the Father is still seeking. God the Father is still seeking!! He is looking. He is listening for our prayers. He wants to answer us. He wants to lead us. He wants to instruct us. He wants to LOVE on us.
Prayer, Principle with Obedience and Praise is how we commune with HIM.
Until next time …
God bless you and keep you and make HIS face shine on you and be gracious to you and fill you with HIS peace.
